UPDATE (2PM) -- Fort Myers Police confirm that the victim in Thursday night's shooting has died from his injuries at the hospital.
He has been identified as 21-year-old Zachary Holmes.
Detectives are still pursuing leads in this active investigation.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A man was shot at an apartment complex in Fort Myers Thursday night.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Waterford Apartments on Central Avenue and Carrel Road.
A witness told Fox 4 that a woman screamed that her boyfriend had been shot. "She came out hysterical, you know saying 'my friend, my friend, my friend, I was just talking to him, and he just got shot now'. And then when she was saying that, the ambulance was rolling out with the light and sirens."
The witnesses say the man was shot in the back of the head.
There's no word yet on the victim's condition.
