FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Fort Myers Police have arrested a man after he's accused of shoplifting steak, meat and power tools from a Ft.Myers Walmart before trying to use a taxi to help him get away.

Police said Samuel Wigfals took a taxi from Winkler Avenue to the Walmart off Colonial and Six Mile Cypress around 3:30 am. The cab driver was waiting in the parking lot for Wigfals to shop before the cab was to drop him off on Thomas Street.

However, not long after Wigfals entered the store, he was being seen running out the front door with two plastic bins filled with steak, meat and power tools.

According to FMPD, Wigfals jumped into the cab but the cab driver refused to drive away.

Police eventually caught up with Wigfals and arrested him.
