A man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that happened in he 2700 block of Del Prado Boulevard South, Friday night.
The crash involved two SUVs, a van, and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist, identified as Kenneth James Wilson, 53, of Cape Coral, Florida died at the scene.
A police report states that Wilson was traveling North on Del Prado when he entered another lane in front of an SUV. The SUV, traveling at a higher speed, side swiped Wilson who then lost control of his motorcycle, crossing over into the South lanes.
Wilson was ejected from his motorcycle and was struck by an oncoming Chrysler van. His motorcycle was then hit by a second SUV traveling South.
Wilson died at the scene.
The southbound lanes were completely closed for several hours as police investigated but have since reopened.
Detectives determined that Wilson was not wearing a helmet during the time of the crash.
It is unknown if the crash is alcohol/drug related.
