Man attacks and robs woman outside apartment complex

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County Sheriff's Deputies are on the hunt for a man who attacked a woman and stole her purse.

It happened Tuesday, March 28th around 10 p.m. at the Villages II at Stoneybrook in Fort Myers.

Deputies say the victim was walking to her apartment when a black male approached her from behind, when she turned around, he punched her in the face and tried to take her purse. The victim struggled with the thief, the two fell to the ground, and he was able to get her purse from underneath her and run away.

The victim describes the thief as a black male between 30-35 years old, about 5'11" with a medium build. He was wearing a red hoodie which partially covered his face and long blue jean pants.
