A maintenance worker is accused of stealing a $15,000 Cartier watch from a homeowner while on the job, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said.
The victim told deputies that employees from a water maintenance company were inside his residence on Thursday, July 20th. After the employees left, he noticed that his Cartier watch valued at $15,000 was missing from his bathroom counter, CCSO said.
35-year-old Mariano Rodriguez was identified as the suspect who robbed the homeowner and later pawned the watch for $350. It was later discovered that Rodriguez had been terminated from the water maintenance company just one day after the robbery for time card fraud.
He faces grand theft charges and remains in jail on a $50,000 bond.
