FORT MYERS, Fla. – Right now you can register for the American Lung Association’s annual Fight for Air Climb event. It will take place on Saturday, April 29th at 9 a.m. at The Oasis Tower One near downtown Fort Myers. During the event, participants will climb 31 flights of stairs in the residential high rise to raise money for lung disease research, education, and advocacy.

“This is a great event for fitness enthusiasts who want a unique challenge,” said Kurt Goerke, director of health promotions for the American Lung Association in Florida. “At the same time, it’s rewarding for anyone impacted by lung disease who just wants to climb and take a stand against illnesses like asthma and lung cancer.”

Fight for Air climbers can participate individually or as a team. Registration is $25, and each climber must raise a minimum of $100 to participate. For more information, or to register, visit www.ClimbFortMyers.org or call 239-908-2685.

Climbers who are registered for the event may participate in weekly training sessions that begin March 4. Training runs from 9-10 a.m. each Saturday from March 4 to April 22.
