Posted

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- - Several people in Lehigh Acres are hoping the Lee County Sheriff's Office steps up patrols, after three businesses were robbed at gunpoint.

Three businesses along Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres were being investigated after reports of robberies taking place. The robberies happened at a Dollar Tree, an Advanced Auto Parts, and a Subway, all on Lee Boulevard around 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

A man who robbed a Subway threatened employees with a gun, according to a Lee County Sheriff's Office spokesperson. Later Sunday, deputies surrounded a home off 21st Street SW in Lehigh Acres. It's unknown if all three robberies are connected.

Several businesses have been robbed in Lehigh over the past few months. Advanced Autoparts stores have been repeatedly hit, and the Subway that was robbed has had past robberies as well. When 4 In Your Corner asked LCSO about increasing patrols in the area, they said they are aware of where these crimes are happening and are adjusting accordingly.

This is an ongoing investigation.
