FORT MYERS-- An American Legion post in Fort Myers will host a job fair they hope will get some veterans into the workforce.
From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Post 38 on Jackson Street will host Rams Inc., a family of companies that will be accepting applications and interviewing for "Jump Start."
Jump start is a paid six month pre-apprenticeship program to help you get a career in construction.
The apprenticeship includes Paid intensive classroom instruction and hands-on training including:
- Basic electrical or plumbing knowledge
- Familiarity with basic materials used
- Basic knowledge of plans and symbols
- Working knowledge of the proper use and care of basic hand tools
- Successfully completing an electrical or plumbing installation
While everyone is welcome to apply and interview, the company is looking to hire veterans.
