CAPE CORAL-- Starting Tuesday, the playground at Jim Jeffers park will close for a resurfacing project.
The park will re-open by Monday, July 17th, but may open earlier depending on the weather.
Cape Coral city officials say the current mulch surface is being removed and replaced with an artificial turf called "X-grass", which comes with a soft pad base to help prevent falling injuries.
City officials also say the new turf is much smoother than the mulch, which will improve accessibility.
