The northbound lanes on Country Club Boulevard will be closed for the remainder of Monday night due to an irrigation main break, the City of Cape Coral said.
A 20-inch main break spilled a significant amount of reclaimed wastewater into the road and neighboring residential properties. The water damaged about 25 to 30 feet of the right lane of northbound Country Club Boulevard as well as a stretch of sidewalks at the same location.
Repairs are expected to take longer due to the location which is sitting on a rock.
At this time there is no additional information on what caused the main break.
Northbound lanes in the 3200 block of Country Club will be closed to traffic.
Drivers are asked to use an alternate route.
