NAPLES, Fla. -- The Collier County Sheriff's Office has released a composite sketch of a man they say is responsible for committing two rapes a few miles a part.
The most recent attack occurred June 18th north of Golden Gate Boulevard. Deputies say suspect hid in the victim's closet before surprising her, then he punched and raped her.
"They told me to be very careful, when I'm walking around the neighborhood with my dog," said Yamili Cordero.
Cordero lives near 19th Place Southwest, where the person committed the first of his two rapes in August of 2016.
"He's definitely someone we want to get off the street now, that's why we are alerting the public," said Collier County Sheriff's Spokesperson Kristine Gill.
Staying inside and locking the doors isn't enough to comfort some people.
"Now we're thinking of installing some cameras, or something there to maybe be safe," said Ruby Meza.
Sheriff's deputies warn the person in the sketch could have changed his appearance several times over the past few months.
