NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Fox 4 anchors Amy Wegmann and Patrick Nolan made a special appearance at Littleton Elementary Monday, where they helped distribute books donated by the Scripps Howard Foundation.

It's all a part of National Reading Day.

Last year, the Scripps Howard Foundation matched the donations of Fox 4 employees to raise over $1,500 for the "If you give a child a book..." campaign.  Those funds were used to purchase over 640 books to be distributed to Littleton Elementary and the Salvation Army.

Monday, Fox 4 was at the school to help hand out the books to students, and Amy and Patrick took time to read to some of the appreciative students while sharing the importance of reading.

Nationwide, Scripps family members and friends of the Scripps Howard Foundation raised a grand total of over $142,000 for the campaign.
