Forty-two rescued dogs adopted in Collier County

Forty- two rescued dogs were up for adoption Saturday at the Collier County Domestic Animals Services.

The dogs were found in unsanitary conditions in Collier County back in May, Officials say.

Potential adopters had to be pre-approved before they were given the opportunity to view the dogs beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Adoptions were done by lottery starting at 12:00 p.m.

Future dog owners were able to choose from a variety of breeds including poodles, Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus and many more.

Over 100 people showed up to the event. There was a one pup limit to each adoptee.
