Fort Myers man arrested after shooting incident Tuesday

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police have arrested a man for a shooting incident Tuesday that left one man injured.

39-year-old Javon McClures was arrested Tuesday and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Firing a Weapon on Residential Property, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

According to Fort Myers Police, McClures is accused of shooting and injuring 41-year-old Rodney Ivery just before 11 a.m. near the intersection of Braman Avenue and South Cleveland Avenue.

Ivery was able to identify McClures as the attacker, and police were quickly able to take him into custody without incident about a block away.

Ivery's injuries are not considered serious, though he was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
