CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Homeland Security spent Tuesday morning investigating a home on SW 1st Place in Cape Coral.
Agency officials said they couldn't provide many details, but that a search warrant was granted for the home.
A neighbor who didn't want to be identified said he first noticed a heavy police presence around 6 a.m. Other neighbors said authorities were knocking on doors nearby asking residents if they had young kids. However, they told residents they couldn't provide anymore information on the active investigation.
Cape PD call logs show the last time an officer responded to the home was in 2013 for a welfare check.
The Lee County Property Appraisers Office said the same woman has owned the home since 2002. However, neighbors said they've only ever seen 2 adult men and 2 young girls come and go and believe they are renters.
Authorities packed up and left the area around 11 a.m. Fox 4 tried talking to the residents but no one responded.
FDLE said no one was arrested Tuesday but that it's an active and ongoing investigation.
