PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The southbound lanes of Interstate 75 were closed at the Kings Highway exit (#170) for about an hour Tuesday due to bridge damage from a crash.
According to Charlotte County Fire & EMS, a truck towing construction equipment crashed into the overpass around 9:50 a.m., causing damage to the structure.
All southbound traffic of I-75 was being routed off the exit while crews inspected the condition of the overpass.
All lanes OF I-75 were reopened around 10:50 a.m.
Eastbound lanes of Kings Highway underneath the interstate remain closed at this time.
