IMMOKALEE, Fla. -- Detectives are investigating a report in which a child said she was followed by a man on a bicycle as she walked by herself in Immokalee on Monday morning.
The 13-year-old girl told deputies that she was walking near the intersection of Carver Street and Booker Boulevard around 7:30 a.m. when a man riding a bike on the opposite sidewalk began talking to her.
The man complimented her hair and asked her if she lived in the area. The girl continued walking in the opposite direction. The man started following her on his bike, asking her again where she lived.
The girl ran to a nearby residence. The man rode away on his bike.
Detectives said the man was described as black, approximately 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, brown hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He was wearing a bright red shirt and black pants.
Detectives have released a composite sketch of the man.
