A Golden Gate High School teacher has been reassigned while the Collier County Public School District investigates allegations of sexual relations with a student in his classroom.

According to a report from the Collier County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the school Friday, where the principal told them he had begun an internal investigation into the alleged sexual encounters between the teacher and one his students.

The principal said that other students told him that the young woman called the teacher "sugar daddy," and that the alleged relationship between them happened in the past year or two.

But the female student, who is now an adult, denied any of this happened when asked by deputies, saying that she made up the whole story to one of her friends during an argument. No charges are being filed against the teacher.

A Collier Public Schools spokesperson said that the teacher has ben reassigned to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Administrative Center pending the results of their internal investigation.

Students at Golden Gate High School have started a petition on Change.org in an effort to get the teacher reinstated, saying that he does not deserve to be dealing with the allegations against him.
