Cold front brings back-to-back chilly mornings in SWFL

A strong cold front will deliver the coldest air mass of the season thusfar, with back-to-back mornings of temperatures in the 50s expected in Southwest Florida.

Temperatures Monday morning will be near 50 degrees in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Fort Myers and Cape Coral with low 50s expected in Bonita Springs, Naples, Immokalee and at the beaches. The coldest numbers will be inland and near Lake O - communities such as Moore Haven, Clewiston and Lehigh Acres - where upper 40s won't be uncommon.

After a cool, crisp start Monday, temperatures will rebound with sunshine, but struggle to get out of the low 70s Monday afternoon with a northeast breeze. Keep in mind, average highs are in the mid 80s this time of year! Even more impressive about Monday's temps is that they could tie or break records for morning lows and daytime highs! The coldest temperature for the date is 50 degrees in Fort Myers (the record is from 2008). Additionally, a reading cooler than 74 degrees on Monday will also mean a broken record (this record is from 1980).

Clear skies and light winds will aid in another chilly morning on Halloween with temperatures again in the low 50s. Highs on Tuesday will be warmer in the mid to upper 70s. A warming trend is expected for the rest of the week.
