COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Collier County is dredging a popular waterway much earlier than expected.
On Thursday, they started planned work on Clam Pass. The city says it's in danger of filling up with sand from last summer's rain and a series of tropical storms.
Last week commissioners voted to declare an emergency to expedite the dredging.
Clam Pass has already been dredged twice in recent year.
The latest project will cost the county about $57, 000.00.
