CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A St. James City man was seriously injured overnight Sunday night after crashing his car though a back yard and into a Cape Coral house.
The crash happened just after midnight at the north end of Averill Boulevard.
According to Cape Coral Police, 30-year-old Kevin Doyle was driving north on Averill, approaching the end of the road at the intersection with Gator Circle. Doyle's car accelerated across Gator Circle, entering an empty lot before crashing through a chain link fence and hitting the rear of a house on NE 34th Lane.
Doyle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash is believed to be alcohol/drug related.
An investigation is still under way.
