Cape Coral Police investigate fatal shooting on Kismet Parkway

**UPDATE (11:45PM)** -- Police have identified them victim in Friday morning's shooting on Kismet Parkway West, who has since died from his injuries.

Police say 19-year-old Nicholas Goffar died at the hospital Friday morning.

Detectives and Forensics personnel worked throughout the night, locating and interviewing witnesses, executing a search warrant, and processing the crime scene. 

They do not believe this was a random incident, nor do they believe there is a danger to the public at-large.

The investigation is still under way.


CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The Cape Coral Police Department is on scene investigating a shooting that left one person injured Thursday night.

Investigators were working in the 2100 block of Kismet Parkway West.

Officers responded to a call of gunshots heard in the area at approximately 8 p.m. When they arrived they found a subject suffering from life threatening gun shot wounds, CCPD said.

The subject was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers say there is no threat to the community at large at this time.
