CAPE CORAL , Fla. -- A Cape Coral woman was arrested Tuesday after she was seen unresponsive while behind the wheel of a car while her young daughter was in the back seat.
35-year-old Toni Eger has been charged with DUI.
According to a Cape Coral Police report, around 7 PM Tuesday, callers reported Eger slumped over the steering wheel of a car in the parking lot of the Dollar General store on Tropicana Parkway.
Officers said Eger was clumsy and not alert at the scene and smelled of alcohol.
After a field sobriety test, officers determined that she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and placed her under arrest.
Eger's daughter was placed into custody of a friend who arrived to pick her up.
Several prescription pills and an open vodka bottle were removed from Eger's car.
