Deputies have arrested a 24-year-old, Port Charlotte man in connection to a burglary and stealing a firearm before fleeing the scene, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said.

It happened at a residence located on East Street on Thursday.

Deputies say Anthony Touchton left the residence before authorities arrived on scene. A stolen firearm was recovered that Anthony left behind which Deputies confirmed was stolen during a separate burglary that took place on Wednesday.

Touchton is charged with Burglary of an unoccupied Dwelling while Armed, Grand Theft of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm Ammunition or Weapon by a Florida Convicted Felon. He remains in jail on a $75,000 bond.
