A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for the city of Fort Myers due to the repair of a 16 inch water main line, the City of Fort Myers said on Sunday.
Residents in the vicinity of Pelican Preserve, Botanica Lakes, and Plantation are asked to boil any water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient, the City said,
As an alternative bottled water an be used.
The notice will remain in effect until further notice.
