Two men were arrested after fleeing from police during a traffic stop on Friday, the Cape Cora Police Department said.
23-year-old Jarell Tevis and a minor drove into a residential neighborhood and crashed into small trees after police attempted a seatbelt violation traffic stop. The two also crashed into a steel cable supporting a power pole, causing loss of power for the neighborhood.
Multiple K9 units were brought to the scene and the suspects were detained. One of the suspects received a bite from a K9, CCPD said.
A revolver, cannabis, and money was recovered from the stolen car.
Tevis is charged with fleeing to elude, reckless driving with property damage, hit and run, operating a vehicle without a license, grand theft, resisting an officer with violence and marijuana possession.
