LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -- One man is dead and a boy was injured in a mysterious crash in Lehigh Acres Monday afternoon.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened along lee Boulevard around 3:30 p.m.
Troopers say 56-year-old Thomas Roberts was driving a Jeep SUV eastbound on Lee Boulevard when for unknown reasons, his vehicle drifted across the median and westbound lanes before crashing into a parked vehicle in front of the Perkins restaurant at Elva Avenue.
Roberts was taken to Lehigh Regional, where he was pronounced dead.
A passenger in his car, 7-year-old Tyler Roberts, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Health Park Hospital.
