LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Former Deputy Freddie Echevarria used to fight crime, now the Lehigh resident is a victim of a crime that happened right in his front yard.
"The gun was setting here with the holster and I knew right away that something happened," said Echevarria.
The incident, which happened on February 21st, was captured on surveillance cameras of a home next door.
"I noticed that everything in my center console, not everything but my wallet was sitting here open, this stuff had been thrown there."
Surveillance cameras from the home next door capturing the crooks in action.
Freddie believes the black item the suspect is holding is his loaded glock 45...the pair also taking off with a magazine clip, and Freddie's concealed carry permit.
"You could see the suspect on the right hand side has what I believe is my weapon where he's looking at it checking it out," said Echevarria.
This brazen burglary is just the latest in what's becoming a pattern in lehigh, Freddies neighbor whose camera's captured the thieves says even with the added surviellance she doesn't feel safe.
"Not really, I've heard of many incidents in our neighborhood, in Lehigh." said Yamili Henao.
Now with a loaded gun in the hands of these two thieves, Freiddie is urging you to be on high alert too.
"Look out your window if you have to if you see anything suspicious it's just a phone call away, call the sheriff's office and they will come out."
