ESPN 106.3 has confirmed that Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin will be the new head football coach at Florida Atlantic University.
The news was first reported by ESPN College Football Insider Brett McMurphy.
Kiffin's last head coaching job was at the University of Southern California before he was fired in 2013.
ESPN.com football writer Chris Low tweeted that Kiffin will remain as Alabama's offensive coordinator throughout the College Football Playoff.
In addition to USC, Kiffin, 41, has had previous head coaching jobs with the Oakland Raiders and University of Tennessee.
FAU fired head coach Charlie Partridge on Nov. 27.
