FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Just one day after being extradited to Lee County, Jimmy Rodgers is expected to go before a judge Wednesday morning. He is one of two Missouri men charged in the murder of Bonita Springs doctor Teresa Sievers.
Rodgers is expected to make his first appearance at the Lee County Courthouse after being extradited from a prison in Illinois, where he was serving time for an unrelated charge.
Jimmy "The Hammer" Rodgers was just booked into the Lee County Jail on Tuesday and now joins his alleged accomplice, Curtis Wayne Wright, who was booked on similar charges back in October.
According to at least one witness statement, these two were paid by Dr. Sievers' husband Mark -- who has not been charged -- to kill his wife for life insurance money last summer. Her body was found inside her Bonita Springs home where she had been beaten to death with a hammer.
Deputies say evidence found at the scene, along with other details, led them straight to Rodgers and Wright.
Curtis Wayne Wright's next court appearance will be March 9th.
