Investigation in Lehigh considered a homicide

UPDATE (10:15 AM) -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that this investigation is being considered a homicide.

Deputies were called to the scene on 32nd Street SW at 9:42 PM Sunday, where they found the body of 17-year-old Jonthomas Hobbs.

Detectives say this was an isolated incident and the surrounding community is not in danger.

Earlier that day, Hobbs posted to Facebook apologizing to his mom and being thankful for being alive.

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -- We're following breaking news just into our newsroom, indicating there's an investigation underway right now on 32nd Street SW in Lehigh Acres.

We're still working to get more info on the situation.

Monday morning the street was blocked off with police tape and a Lee County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle at Wanda Avenue South, which is just off Xelda Ave South.

Fox 4 has a crew at the scene and will update as more info is revealed.
