PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. --Officials now say lightning was to blame for a brush fire that sparked in Port Charlotte on Sunday.

The blaze started just before 4 PM in the area of Kempson Lane and Cheney Terrace, off Gillot Boulevard in the Gulf Cove neighborhood, and grew to about five acres.

Thankfully, no one was hurt and crews got the flames under control before they threatened any homes.
