NAPLES, Fla. -- Florida Governor Rick Scott will be in Naples Thursday to talk jobs. The governor says he is working to make Florida a global destination for job creation.
Governor Scott will be making an appearance at the global headquarters for Arthrex, a global medical device company located on Creekside Boulevard in Naples, to make an announcement on more job creation.
Arthrex has multiple subsidiaries all over the world, but it's corporate and manufacturing operations all happen here in Southwest Florida. The company's website also says it has a medical education facility located in Naples and a logistics center in Fort Myers.
Governor Scott is consistently in the media talking about job creation, but has most recently made news as Florida's politicians feel more pressure to take action against the Lake Okeechobee water releases. That, along with concerns about the Zika virus that he has had to confront as governor.
The governor has not announced he will talk about these issues, but this is the first time he will speak to local reporters since these two issues have come up.
The press conference will be at 1:30 pm.
