COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies are investigating what they're calling a 'suspicious incident', after a boy says a man in Golden Gate tried to get him inside his car Monday.
Deputies say the child was walking home from his bus stop near Tropicana Boulevard and 31st Avenue on Monday afternoon when a man he did not know told him to get in his car.
The boy said no and ran away. The boy told deputies the man got out of the car but did not chase him.
Deputies said the man is described as possibly Hispanic and short with a muscular build. He was in a silver sedan with a Florida license plate.
The man wore a blue bandana that partially that covered the lower half of his face. He lifted the bandana when he spoke.
If you know anything, call Crime Stoppers 1-800-780-TIPS.
Earlier Monday, the Collier County Sheriff's Office announced that a similar reported case Golden Gate last week was simply a misunderstanding.
