PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Peachland Boulevard was shut down for more than 5 hours Friday morning after a teenager was hit and injured by a vehicle.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 14-year-old Jayda Poulin was skateboarding westbound along the edge of the eastbound lane of Peachland Boulevard as the car approached going eastbound.

The driver of the car was unable to see the girl due to lack of street lacks and no reflective clothing.  Poulin slammed into the windshield of the car.
