TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A lucky Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket has scored a nice weekly check for a Fort Myers man.
36-year-old George Cutting purchased a $2 ticket for the "$1,000 a Week For Life" game from the Crystal Gas station on Crystal Drive in Fort Myers, and won the top prize.
Cutting chose to receive his winnings as annual payments of $52,000 for the duration of his life, guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years.
Crystal Gas will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $2 Scratch-Off game, $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE, launched in June 2015 and features more than $56 million in prizes. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-4.44.
Scratch-Off games comprise approximately 67% of Florida Lottery's ticket sales and generating more than $632 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2014-15.
