FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles were victorious Sunday as they defeated the Stetson University Hatters in the Atlantic Sun Conference championship.

With the win, FGCU earned an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament, also known as "March Madness".

The selection show on Sunday, March 13th will reveal which bracket FGCU will play in and who they will be playing in the first round of the tournament.

The last time the men's basketball team made the tournament was in 2013, when they entered as a 15-seed.  That team stunned the nation when they upset the 2-seed Georgetown and then the 7-seed San Diege State to advance to the Sweet 16.  The were then defeated by Florida, ending a magical run.

From all of us at Fox 4, Congratulations!
