FORT MYERS, Fla. -- One person is dead after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Fort Myers early Friday morning.
It happened just before 12:30am near the intersection of Treeline Avenue and Silver Ridge Boulevard.
According to Fort Myers Police, 48-year-old Jose Navarro of Lehigh Acres was riding north on Treeline Avenue when he lost control of his motorcycle. Officers say they arrived at the scene to find Navarro on the ground and debris scattered across both the northbound and southbound lanes.
They are still investigating the crash, but there are indications that speed played a role in the crash.
