LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers responded to the scene of a fatal crash in the San Carlos Park area that left a bicyclist dead.
Florida Highway Patrol say the crash happened at the intersection of San Carlos Boulevard at Three Oaks Parkway.
Troopers say the bicyclist attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Three Oaks against a no crossing signal, and entered the roadway in the path of a lawn service truck.
The truck, which was proceeding through the intersection on a green light, could not avoid the bicyclist and struck him.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Jesse Roberts of Fort Myers.
No charges have been filed in the incident.
This is the third fatal crash on a deadly Friday morning on Southwest Florida roads. Fatal crashes have also been reported in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte.
