WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida drug dealer has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for selling the prescription pain medication that caused a man's fatal overdose.
A U.S. Attorney's Office news release says 25-year-old Christopher Sharod Massena was sentenced Friday. He was convicted in August of supplying drugs that led to death.
Authorities say Massena sold fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, to 23-year-old Christian Hernandez in February. After Hernandez's death, investigators found evidence in his phone that Massena was his dealer. Authorities say Massena was arrested after selling fentanyl and heroin to an undercover officer.
