COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A deadly crash on Alligator Alley Thursday caused big traffic backups.
The crash happened about 4:20 p.m. near mile marker 64 on Alligator Alley.
Florida Highway Patrol says a vehicle was heading southbound/eastbound when it crossed the median and collided with another car headed northbound.
The driver of the car that crossed the median was taken to a nearby hospital, where they died.
One person was in the other car. Their injuries were minor.
