LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The Big Red Bus sat outside Dixie Roadhouse in Cape Coral and drew not only blood but eager blood donors this weekend.
They were all inspired to give after the mass shooting that shook Orlando one week ago.
"A lot of the blood banks are at capacity," said Abbe Forman. "But it is never going to hurt. There's always blood needed," Forman added.
Abbe Forman coordinated the effort between OneBlood and Dixie. She said getting all the parties on board was no problem at all.
Blood donors know the importance of giving blood, which made them want to give what they could to the Orlando shooting victims.
"It was immediate. People didn't even think. I mean it was just come out and do the right thing. Let's do it, lets care about these people. Let's take care of these people. Let's take care of each other, it was a wonderful thing," said Forman.
