LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators with the Lee County Sheriff's Office say a death investigation from Wednesday has been ruled a homicide.

The victim is 24-year-old Michael S. Williams, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators say Williams was found Wednesday morning in the 3900 block of 4th Street SW in Lehigh Acres.  That's in the section east of Gunnery Road South and south of Lee Boulevard.

Neighbors tell Fox 4 they heard gunshots overnight, followed by some silence then more gunshots.   They said they didn't call police because it was not an unusual sound in the neighborhood.
