CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Cape Coral Police, Cape Coral Fire Department and bomb squad are on scene of a death investigation in the 200 block of Southeast 31 Street.
Preliminary information is that a man inside the residence died when a compressed air/gas canister exploded at a residence.
Fox 4 spoke to the victim's sister who said the gas canister exploded when in the victim's hands. Two children were home at the time of the explosion, there were no other injuries.
Traffic will be diverted in the area for the next several house while the State Fire Marshall investigates and as bomb squad will assist to make sure the scene is safe. Drivers should seek an alternate route.
UPDATE (7/25): The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Loc Ba Nguyen of Cape Coral.
