UPDATED 10:30AM (Tuesday) - The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office has identified the remains as 33 year old Eleanor Josephine Jones.

UPDATED 6:25PM (Sunday) - The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office reported locating the remains of an unknown female in a wooded area near Narango Drive in Punta Gorda.
The remains have been released into the custody of the State Medical Examiner's Office. Age and ethnicity are unable to be determined at this time.

UPDATED 7:00PM (Saturday) - At approximately 1:00PM, members of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Narango Drive, Punta Gorda on the report of someone in the area who had located a body.
Members of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office did in fact locate a deceased body in that area. At this time, the body will be removed and transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for further identification. The investigation is continuing by the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office and further detail will be released as they develop.
PUNTA GORDA, FLa.- Officials have confirmed a death investigation is underway after a body was found just south of Tucker's Grade off U.S. 41 near Estrella Boulevard.
