It's been a deadly year for panthers in Florida. The 40th killed in 2015 was recovered Monday in Collier County.
FWC officials say the remains of a one-year-old male panther were collected Monday on SR 29 at the Owl Hammock curve just south of Immokalee in Collier County.
Investigators say the animal was struck by a vehicle. The carcass will be sent to the FWC Gainesville lab for necropsy.
This marks the 40th killed in 2015 and the 29th killed on Florida roads.
