FORT MYERS, Fla. — FOX 4 has learned that a person living at Springwood Court, an assisted-living community in Fort Myers, has died from coronavirus.

The community did not say whether other employees or people have been exposed.

The facility's parent company, Five Star Senior Living, released a statement outlining their safety precautions.
It says in part:

"Consistent with recommendations of and directives by federal, state and local regulatory agencies, last month all of our communities and clinics implemented appropriate infection and disease prevention protocols along with a number of other precautionary measures specifically tailored to mitigate the spread of COVID-19."
