NAPLES, Fla. — A local initiative is feeding hundreds of healthcare workers at Naples Community Hospital.

Starting last week, Sails Restaurant and William Raveis Real Estate in Naples teamed up to donate and deliver 150 hot meals to NCH every day.

It's their way of saying thank you to local healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

The meals are prepared fresh in Sails kitchen, before they get boxed and bagged to go by volunteers.

Restaurant co-founder & general manager Veljko Pavicevic says it feels good to serve his community heroes in scrubs.

“A lot of them are working doubles and they don’t have time to eat. They say the hot dinners we are sending are the only meal of the day they have, so the gratitude we are receiving is just amazing," said Pavicevic.

The two businesses plan to continue delivering hot meals as long as they can provide them.

They've also asked for support from the community in hopes of delivering more meals to the hardworking men and women at NCH.

“The response from the community has been overwhelming. We are loving it, so we will continue with this daily drive. For the upcoming week we will also increase numbers," said Pavicevic.

Next week, they plan to deliver 300 hot meals to NCH.
