CAPE CORAL, Fla -- Fort Myers Beach Mayor Ray Murphy spoke only with Fox 4's Jessica Alpern to confirm tour buses of visitors have already arrived on the island for the Fourth of July.

There's concern over how social distancing will play out on Fort Myers Beach, after the town voted to keep it open earlier this week.

Beaches on Florida's East Coast are closed. Collier County and Sanibel Island beaches have limited hours and parking restrictions in place.

Many fear this will make Fort Myers Beach an attractive option for visitors, looking to celebrate the holiday weekend outdoors.
