Florida COVID-19 cases hit another record high passing 5,000 cases for the second day

A new record-high number of COVID-19 cases was reached in Florida on Thursday morning.

Florida's number of positive coronavirus cases is 114,018 as of Thursday morning, according to the Florida Department of Health (DOH).

Of those total positive cases, 111,724 are Florida residents and 2,294 are non-Florida residents.

Here is a breakdown of total coronavirus cases to date in the Southwest Florida area:

Lee County: Total Cases: 4,062, Deaths: 149

Collier County: Total Cases: 3,521, Deaths: 70

Charlotte County: Total Cases: 623, Deaths: 76

DeSoto County: Total Cases: 521, Deaths: 10

Hendry County: Total Cases: 796, Deaths: 24

Glades County: Total Cases: 151, Deaths: 1
